lose meaning through repitition

May 19

then the weekend comes

and all I hear is desperate shouts

telling me how fulfilled and happy they are

even louder because they aren’t so sure either

but the empty glass surrounding them tells me otherwise

Fear dominates your actions.
But even if you conquer them,
That does not make you fearless.

There is still the fall after victory that will always linger.

Let us grow until we reach,
The moment where we fear nothing but the fall itself.
So that we can feel comforted when we feel the ground beneath our feet.

And let us hope that that defeat comes,
Before death defeats us.
Before we become enveloped in the ground,
Rather than victorious above it.

I’ve lived with being ignored,
For insincerity will do me no good
and ill intentions are not something I crave.

But you are different than the rest.
You caught my eye,
Although you try so hard to slip through the cracks.

You choose to ignore me too,
Even though you see me as I see you.
I’ve become convinced that I will stay in this place much longer
Than I had thought I would.

Pass by me as you always will.
And I’ll continue in my fantasies,
Becoming more and more sure,
That they will never come true.

One of these days I’ll forget all about you
And you about me
Until even the sound of your name escapes my mind
Nothing but a faint notion of what you meant

I’m having a hard time figuring out whether that will be very very good or bad for me.

I’ve been told by others that this feeling is called
numbness.
But I can feel my heart pumping through my veins so,
Does that count for something?

Or does each passing heartbeat,
Within the midnight hours,
Make me aware of my own
solidarity?

Greeting loneliness as if we were old friends,
He tells me I am young,
But I do not feel that way.

What does numbness mean,
If I can drown in steady heartbeats
Reminding me that I am alive?
